The 3rd and 4th class made a maths trail for the junior and senior infants and helped them navigate it.
Making the trail
The 3rd and 4th class were given a list of parameters within which to make the trail. These were (for junior infants)
No numbers > 6 (junior inf.) 20 (senior inf)
Identify colours
Identify rectangles, squares circles and triangles
Compare (2 only junior infants, 3 for senior infants) items by length, size, height, colour, texture(rough or smooth)
A similar set of parameters were made for senior infants
Each 3rd/4th pair made a trail of 10 questions.
Navigating the trail
Each pair from 3rd and 4th helped a group of infants navigate the trail, acting as reader and scribe
